The function of the aerator is not only to increase the dissolved oxygen in the water, but also to facilitate the concentration of organic debris, feces, algae residue, and residual bait in the pool due to water agitation, increasing the habitat and feeding space for shrimp.
At present, the widely used aerators in shrimp farming include waterwheel aerators, impeller aerators, fish pond aerators, etc. Plowing and surging machines are new types of aerating machinery in aquaculture. When they are started, they can generate a circulation effect between the upper and lower water layers through stirring, forming a three-dimensional circulating water flow, thereby breaking the stratification of the water body and improving the oxygen deficiency at the bottom.
Different types of aerators have their own characteristics. Using different aerators in the same pond can not only save electricity costs but also achieve complementary oxygenation effects; For example, in the high-level pond culture of Penaeus vannamei, bottom microporous aerators or aerators are installed, combined with water wheel aerators to eliminate water stratification; The rectangular low-level soil pool can be treated with a combination of surge machines and water wheel aerators for oxygenation.
The installation position of the aerator in the shrimp pond should be determined based on the characteristics of different types of aerators, combined with the size, shape, and water depth of the shrimp pond. It should be able to promote circular flow of the pond water. The start-up time and frequency of the aerator manufacturer in the clean feeding area should be determined according to the seedling density and algae concentration. Under normal circumstances, the aerator should be started twice a day within 20 days after seedling release, and 2-3 hours before dawn and noon. After 20-40 days of cultivation, the start-up time can be extended as needed; In the later stage of aquaculture, due to increased self pollution of the water body, the total weight of shrimp increases, and it needs to be turned on all day.
In addition, on rainy days, the startup time and frequency should be increased to maintain the dissolved oxygen level in the water above 5mg/L. After heavy rain, the aerator should be started to exchange the upper and lower layers.
When feeding, the machine should be stopped for 0.5-1 hour to facilitate shrimp feeding. In high-density precision aquaculture of Vannamei shrimp or shrimp factory farming in high-level ponds, oxygen concentrators or liquid oxygen devices can be installed in places where conditions permit. The oxygen concentration in the water is much higher than that of power oxygenation, which can be used to supplement dissolved oxygen or emergency situations in the later stage of aquaculture.
